The M1 Delta speaker cabinet is hand built near Venice, Italy by dedicated craftsmen using the finest art grade plexiglass, made in EU. This type of plexiglass is chosen for it\u2019s non-resonant characteristics, so there is no \u201cbox\u201d sound\u2013 the music is in the air. \u200b<\/p>

The shape of the cabinet is determined by the properties of the material, which are best utilized as flat panels, thus the minimalist form-follows-function form factor. \u200b<\/p>

This type of plexiglass has 2.5 times the mass and 10 times the cost of wood, and is extremely challenging to work with. The M1 Delta is not suited to mass production, they are built one at a time.\u200b<\/p>

The M1 Delta speaker includes Daniel Hertz in-house made speaker connectors that provide the best possible signal transmission, eliminating the solder joints and metal terminations found in typical speaker cables. Brass plates sandwich the copper wire, tightened with Delrin caps and a Daniel Hertz tightening tool that rests on the rear panel of the Maria 800.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The M1 Delta uses custom made exclusive drivers, built in Italy, with pro audio muscle, designed to reproduce the sound of music in live performance venues. No high end audio speakers use drivers with this capability. The size, cost, cabinet requirements and the need for bi-amplification and fine tuning with the Maria 800 make the M1 Delta a boutique product above the existing market.<\/p>

The M1 Delta 18\u201d woofer of the M1 Delta is a high efficiency design (98dB\/1W\/1m) that can take up to 4000W of power and generate over 132dB SPL. With a resonant frequency of 20Hz, it has flat frequency response to 20Hz. The crossover point is 80Hz.\u00a0<\/p>

The M1 Delta 12\u201d woofer of the M1 Delta is 100dB efficient and reproduces signals from 80Hz to 2kHz. It is driven directly from the Maria 800 via the active crossovers enabled in the Mighty Cat software suite. A passive crossover is used between the 12\u201d woofer and the high performance compression driver tweeter, which reproduces signals from 2kHz to 20kHz.<\/p>

Vienna Music Room<\/strong><\/em><\/p>

Live concert sound is amplified with high efficiency speakers because low efficiency speakers cannot take the power or survive the audio demands. Residential audio speakers might sound pleasant, but have no chance of meeting the needs of live performance requirements. The M1 is built with the high efficiency and high power handling required for amplifying live musical events.<\/p>

The Vienna Music Room in Vienna, Austria, selected the Daniel Hertz M1 system, the earlier model of the M1 speakers, as both the owner’s personal listening system and the live sound system for amplification top musicians like Al DiMeola and Stanley Jordan. A pair of M2 (the 12\u201d and tweeter of the M1 without the 18\u201d) are used for the rear channel speakers in the rear of the room. Mark Levinson designed the acoustic treatment in collaboration with the architects, so everyone in the room hears similar tonal\u00a0 balance.<\/p>
